I just feel the weapons were not as well done, the mods were not that great. The only one that looks just like real life is from this mod. Magnum.44 in game, none of them look good to me.
In a gun fight, I rather have a.22 than a magnum because I can shoot faster and more accurately. I generally dislike big caliber weapon (in real life) because of the recoil (at sacrifice in accuracy). You can do more, but that requires editing in CK or FO4edit.
